Description
Dr. Fixit Pidifin 2K is an acrylic cementitious, polymer-modified flexible waterproofing and protective coating made from high-quality Portland cement, graded aggregates, additives, and acrylic emulsion polymer as a binder. It is designed to waterproof and protect concrete and masonry surfaces, providing durable and long-lasting protection against water ingress.

Application Methodology
1 SURFACE PREPARATION
- The surface must be prepared mechanically to remove all loose particles and laitance.
- Degrease oil and grease using suitable solvents, wash with jet of water, and bring to touch dry state.
- Fill cracks/undulations using cement-sand mortar mixed with latex polymers such as Dr. Fixit Pidicrete URP.
- Apply 45° fillets at corners using PMM mixed with Dr. Fixit Pidicrete URP.
- Ensure substrate is in SSD condition before application.
2 MIXING
- Shake the liquid component until homogenous and milky.
- Use heavy-duty mechanical mixer at slow speed with paddle.
- Slowly add powder to liquid under constant stirring until lump-free slurry is formed.
3 APPLICATION
- Ensure plumbing/sanitary fittings are completed and grouted using Dr. Fixit Bathseal Tape & Dr. Fixit Bathseal Grout.
- Pre-wet surface and apply first coat with nylon brush ensuring all gaps are filled. Place 50 gsm glass fibre mesh over fillets while still wet.
- After 6–8 hours, apply second coat perpendicular to first.
- Leave to air cure for 3–5 days; avoid water curing in bathrooms, but protect from sunlight if needed.
- In new bathrooms, apply Dr. Fixit Pidifin 2K all over sunken slabs and walls up to 6–7 feet.
- Use Dr. Fixit Pidiproof LW+ in internal wall plaster, then apply 2 coats of Dr. Fixit Pidifin 2K with coarse sand sprinkling for tiling grip.
4 GENERAL WATERPROOFING AND WATER TANKS
- For foot traffic areas, overlay coating with screed during application.
- In tanks, sprinkle coarse sand after second coat while wet to help bond protection plaster.
Health & Safety
- Dr. Fixit Pidifin 2K is alkaline and should not come into contact with skin or eyes.
- Avoid inhalation of dust during mixing.
- Gloves, goggles and dust masks should be worn, during mixing and handling the product.
- Any contact to eyes should be washed immediately with clean water and seek medical advice
Precautions & Limitations
- Do not part mix. Mix the entire quantity of both the components at one go.
- Do not dilute.
- Always add powder to liquid to avoid lump formation.
- Do not cure by flooding with water.
- Cure the membrane with moist hessian cloths.
- Pond test for water tightness shall be carried out only after 3-5 days of complete and proper curing.
- Do not use on metal or wooden substrates, on bituminous coverings, to waterproof surfaces direct exposed to traffic and uncovered swimming pools.
- Additionally, for Bathrooms/Wet areas etc. The waterproofing coating should be done on levelled surface and not directly over bricks/blocks walls. The brick/block surface and joints should be levelled with thin coat of polymer modified mortar. The concealed plumbing/electrical conduits area should be cleaned and packed appropriately with Polymer Modified Mortar.
Storage and Shelf Life
- Best before 12 months from the date of manufacture, when stored in cool and dry place at original, unopened condition.
